Planet of Self: The Sun

i don't believe in astrology, per se, but i find it highly interesting. for instance, i don't think my sign even comes close to describing me. but i have a friend who's sign is a dead-on match. now i know that some of these things are composed in such a way that anyone could see themselves in it, but it is eerie how close his is.

my sign is definitely not descriptive of my personality. i've been told that's because i was born in between signs (on the 23rd--some charts switch signs on the 22 and some on the 23) so i have traits of both. seems like a convenient explanation. to give the whole issue the benefit of the doubt, maybe some people fall in line with their sign better than others, much like some people seem to be more influenced by their genes than others. or maybe i am an abnormality (which wouldn't be surprising).

and despite the fact that i don't think it's accurate, i still find myself checking my horoscope every now and then. i think that if it were actually correct once in a while, i would believe it more. it's a shame that it doesn't actually work. wouldn't it be wonderful to have an infallible source to consult when trying to make decisions? life would no longer be filled with worry and the unknown.

as a side note, i am surrounded by scoprios and taurii (what is the plural of taurus??), the two signs with whom my sign is not supposed to associate (according to my profile). i must like conflict.
