day 1 of bar review
all i can say is that i'm going to have a long summer. 3.5 hours of class every weekday and some weekends. one weekend of 7 hour days. i'm going to more class than i did during school. but at least this seems to have a point. i think the first two days are intended to scare the shit out of us so we study. at this point, i think i'm going to fail. it seems unbelievable that anyone can pass this monster. but that's how i felt on the first day of every semester--how can anyone pass this class??
speaking of classes, i'm still 3 grades short. i'm holding off on applying for a couple of jobs so i can have a final resume and transcript. i'm starting to get a bit frustrated. i feel like i'm in limbo. i dont know what my rank is, what my grades are, whether i'm going to get a job, etc. have i mentioned that i don't do well with uncertainty. it gnaws at me every day. and this whole unemployed thing is really hindering my plans for a house and a car and a dog.
but i have to say, all in all, i'm happier than i was during law school!!

the class itself includes a string of three, 7 hour day classes. i was not including study time in any of that, only class time. 16 hour days are my plan. that's what i did during law school so why would this be any less? i'm off to go do practice performance tests...
You put in 16 hour days on a regular basis in law school? This confirms for me that I am a slacker. And out of curiosity, which year did you do the most work?
an average of that for weekdays, yah. i would take part of a weekend day off to spend time with my husband. i was what some would call an "overachiever" or "crazy." i was one of those weird people who read every single law school assignment, took notes before class and during class. i was on the extreme end though. most people don't need to put in quite that much time. i think my last semester was my most work. i had a job 2nd semester 2L and first semester 3L and i had more freetime then than i did during my last semester. i think it just depends on which classes you take. i took 5 solid, hard classes my last semester so that's why i had so much to do. i recommend doing your seminar before your last semester though. a seminar paper is a great thing to have as a writing sample for interviews.
